Tired.

Man, is it Spring Break yet? My kids sure think it is is. Today was a rough day. It was picture day which threw things off a bit. Needless to say picture day+no conference+hyper kids+3 days until Spring Break= a very tired teacher. O well- three more days!

So, I really did not want to walk tonight. I tried just about every excuse in the book. However, I sucked it up and went. Ryan and Izzy went with me and we walked 3 miles. I am glad I did it, but now I am really ready to crash.

I finished one of the million projects I have going on right now. I have seen several variations of this floating around blogs so I decided to take my hand at it. I *think* I like it. The only thing I really am not sure about is the black letters since my room is browns. However, being the cheapskate I am I made it with transparencies and a copy machine rather than vinyl. I might be making some changes to it but here it is so far.

A Pooped Puppy

Today I completed my second walk as I get ready for the Comen. Ryan went to go practice softball with a new team he is going to play with so it was just me and Izzy. We went up to the pond area where we had walked before. I learned that one time around is .75 miles so I set my goal for 4 laps today so that I could get three miles in. Izzy did fine when Ryan and I did 3 laps on Thursday so I figured it would be no big deal. The first two laps she was ahead of me and wanting to go faster, sniffing anything and everything she could find. The third was a little slower but still perky. When we got to the end of the third she looked up at me like "Okay- let's go lady." Needless to say she spend the entire forth lap a few steps behind me and would stop and sit on her butt every so often. I couldn't help but laugh at her as she plopped down and gave me a death glare. I think I might need a new partner!

I also started some projects for the house today. I have been in a bit of a craft mode lately. I'll post some pics when I'm done. (Well, if they turn out ok! ha)

Susan G. Comen

Well, I know I say this every time, but I never post! Hopefully, that is all going to change though. I am hoping to use this blog as an accountability for a new challenge/goal I have set. As you can tell on the side on my blog, I have committed to walk the Susan G. Comen Walk for the Cure in November. It is a 3 day 60 mile walk. A group of women from my COM group at church formed a team. I was about 90% percent sure I wasn't going to do it, but I just kept thinking and praying about it. I got to thinking about why I didn't want to do it. Basically it boiled down to I wasn't sure I could raise the funds (every participant has to raise 2300 dollars for the cause), I don't really know the other girls all that well (we just started going to this group), and I don't have a strong personal connection to breast cancer. Well, after a lot of thinking I figured out my reasons were pretty lame. I am trusting that somehow the money will come together, this will be a great way to get to know the other women better, and I shouldn't take for granted that I don't have a personal connection.

Anyway- all that to say that I have my work cut out for me. I began training today. I walked about 2 miles with Ryan and Izzy. They have a great walking plan to get you ready and my team has scheduled workouts to help us get ready. I'm hoping to use this blog to keep me accountable as I get ready. I would really appreciate your prayers for diligence!

Hope you are all great!

Exciting News!!!

Ok, well i never post but I have really, really good news! Ryan was accepted into physician assistant school today!! This has been a really long and challenging process. Over 700 people apply each year and they only take 48! He applied last year and was not accepted. It was a hard thing for both of us to take, but we were able to take this year to prepare, save money, and grow as a couple before the stress of school! I am so proud of Ryan for his perseverance, hard work, and intelligence!
